    Hope Mills vs. Wilmington

Both teams have already qualified to participate in the upcoming state tournament which will be held in Gastonia Aug.5-9; however, these guys have some business to settle for Area 2 championship.

Hopefully some posters from that way will keep up informed.

Is this series a best of five? How did these two teams do against each other in the regular season? What is their overall records?

Yes, it is a best of 5 series. These two teams did not playin in the regular season because Hope Mills is from the west and wilmington is from the east. Therefore yesterday was the 1st time these two teams met. I am not sure about Wilmingtons record but I kno Hope Mills is now 18-6 after the game two loss. This series is for seeding in the state tournament, apparently whoever wins the series gets the higher seed. I dont really think it matters all that much because all 8 teams that will be up there will be the best NC has to offer!

Wilmington is 17-10. They had won 10 in a row before dropping the opener to Hope Mills.

I wouldn't put Gastonia in that elite group.

All of the teams are there for some reason! The main 1 being to win it all so gastonia, even thothey didn't earn a spot, will play hard and give it there all. You can't count ou tany team that does that!

Host teams are often the most dangerous.

I don't doubt that Gastonia could win a game or two, but it's not an "elite" team.

How many of you would just as soon play Pineville/Cherryville as Gastonia the opening round?
