    Another one........

Life has afforded me alot of moments for other's to enjoy at my expense......

2 years ago while at WWBA in atlanta, pulled up in the parking lot at Southern Polytechnic Univ. and started walking to the baseball field, stopped to chit chat with my buddy Hugh a pretty good ways from the field. Well, no warning and BAM! get hit right in the mouth with a line drive foul ball. Didn't really think much of it until Hugh looks at me and begins tellling me that a person shouldn't be losing that much blood. Well phone calls are made and first arrives the fire department, next arrives the police department, finally amid the Fire truck sirens, and the police siren, arrives the Ambulance. I'm thinking somebody just give me some ice and some glue and I will fix myself up and watch the ballgame. Well the Ambulance didn't have cold compresses and gave me gauze to catch the blood, hell by this point, I am pretty much bled out, my clothes stopped most of it. They make me ride the ambulance to the hospital, and I get there along with my great buddy, Hugh (did I mention that I believe he pulled me in front of him to shield himself from the ball) a nurse looks it over, doctor comes in and finally makes me take out my dip of skoal. (Couldn't take it out before then, would've been a waste of a good dip) Some stitches, going to the dentist, Dr. Hurt, who my good buddy Hugh (same guy who used me as a shield) found, as she attached pliers to my teeth to pull them back into place, she looked at me and said this might hurt a little bit. (Did I mention my good friend Hugh, who then took me to the pharmacy for my meds, and then allowed me to buy orange juice to drink with my meds. No, really Hugh doted over me like my wife, did I mention sometimes I wake up under my pillows and my wife is grinning)

So I guess that getting hit in the face at a baseball game, fire dept sirens because I guess I was on fire at some point, police sirens cause I guess I looked like I was in the world's worst fight and lost, and a 2 mile ambulance ride because they made me was very embarrassing.

Does Hugh know my good friend and attorney, Haskell Willingham? I swear they sound like brothers. The only thing I can think Haskell would have done differently is to shake the hand of the player that hit the foul ball...ask to meet his parents......threaten them with a lawsuit (make some on-the-spot negotiation) and come back and tell me, "Hey...you look better already"

    ECU v. UNC

....I go to my locker before the game and find a size 36 pants for me to wear that game......I wore a 30 at best....anyway, I'm called over by the coach to pinch run for whoever was on 1st.....bam! 1st pitch I get picked off.....I couldn't go back head first because I'd lose my britches...so Einstien that I am, decided to go in feet first.......the tag was high, zipper high. OUCH.

BTW, the 1b for UNC was a guy named Joe Ritto, who was a real badass...
...God bless his soul....he died before he got to the majors.

Put me on the ground excruciating pain ghastly lookin bruise for weeks and that was more or less the end of my BP throwin days after that never could operate like "the machine" I used to be! :((((((( Guess this would have been good for a new thread most hurtful moments huh???
