Big League vs. Sr. LL ???

what's the age difference in this Sr. LL division and the game I saw on ESPN Saturday in which a SC team defeated Puerto Rico for the "Big League" national or world(?) championship?

confusing. Are both in the official Little League affiliation?

BTW, did anyone else watch that Big League game? PR was ahead 4-0 going into the bottom of the 7th and final inning, and then their defense just imploded. 3-4 errors and a hit batsman later, and a couple of timely SC hits and SC won 5-4.

    Eastof Raleigh and Coach Evans

First of all CONGRATULATIONS to Coach Evans and the Roxboro Team. I can see where you've got them playing well - GOOD LUCK in bouncing back after the 1 loss to the VA team.:clapclap::clapclap:

I'm going to to coach a 12&Under LL team this fall for the area Little Leage. Looking forward to it, It'll be fun. Don't be surprised if I call for some advice.

East of Raleigh if I'm not wrong Big League is 18 & 19 yr olds and Senior league is 16 and under based on the Little League dates.

    Coach Evans, GO GET UM!!!!!!

Fantastic BIG LEAGUE game, great comeback for SC, shame PR changed pitchers. Did you notice the praises on how many DI signed players were on the SC team? The PR defense had to work in the last inning and after 6 innings resting on their heels they couldnt get the job done.
BIG LEAGUE is actual LITTLE LEAGUE 16-18 and the SENIOR LEAGUE is yet another divison of real LITTLE LEAGUE 13-15 (some 16s this year I think). They are trademarked names and when used in reference to LITTLE LEAGUE are supposed to be capitalized, since so many other leagues like using the names. They also have a JUNIOR LEAGUE tourney for 13-14s.
I remember years ago, Northern Durham took many state titles by using Legion Players on the rosters. If they didnt qualify to extend play in the state Legion tourney, they all piled in the bus for the Regionals of BIG LEAGUE.

    ??

yes, I was wondering if those SC Big League guys also played American Legion ball or not.
For something like Big League, don't you have to play a regular season in that affiliation or is it just an "all-star" team chosen to represent various regions??

It is an all-star team from a league. Most of the time a league only has one team and they have to find a schedule with other LL teams to have proof of actually being a sanctioned team. In the older days Durham had a couple/few teams that would play each other. Not so long ago, they would only have one team with players on the roster that may or may not show up for games. At this level there is no play time rules, so roster stacking is in effect. As a matter of fact, they didnt like traveling and would forfiet away games with promises to reschedule. In NC, not many LL programs have a BIG LEAGUE, so it is somewhat easy at the state tourney to qualify if you have a decent team.

Roxboro lost yesterday in the semifinals against FL yesterday 6-2. We played excellent defense but were unable to hit the ball. The kids battled hard and showed alot of pride and effort. The folks in Roxboro and NC should be very proud of the way these kids represented our state. In fact, the volunteers and field crew were all pulling for us against the team from FL, as we made a connection with the people in the Viera Suntree Little LEague.

To answer the question Big League is the next age group in the Little League Organization. Senior League is 15-16 year olds, while Big League is 17-18. To my understanding there were not any Big League Teams in NC so a team participating could have gone directly to the regionals as the NC rep.
