Greensboro will be sending two teams off to World Series play as the Proehlific Power will be heading to San Francisco in the Palomino World Series and the Greensboro Green will be heading to Layfette, IN to play in the Colt World Series. That Colt team is coached by TBR's own Alan Ashkinazy(Grimsley/GBC). There is a ton of talent on both squads listed below.

Good luck to both teams. Maybe Ash will post some results from Layfette when they get back.

    Wagstaff

"Joe Wagstaff from Louisburg College led the Power on Monday in their 14-5 win, (over Pine-Richlands PA), by going five innings on the mound and only giving up the five runs on six hits, with five strikeouts and just one walk. Coach Johnny Smith said Wagstaff was a big difference in the game as were the Power hitters who pounded the ball once again and nobody struck at the plate for the Power on Monday, everybody seemed to be putting the ball into play. Another key note on Wagstaff, 70% of his pitches were for strikes in Monday’s victory."

Speaking of Coach Ash, I hope he's coming back to Grimsley next year.

Greensboro Colt team won the opening game of the tourney with a 10-5 win over Central Michigan. Not a lot of details. Actually listened to the end of the game on a webcast but the link was intermittent so it was hard to follow.

Their next game is Friday afternoon.

    Boundaries?

What type of boundaries does Palomino have? Kid from Lee County on a Greensboro roster? Seems like a long way.

A pleasure to have on your team

Doesn't surprise me at all as I always felt that Joe had a tremendous amount of upside and would benefit greatly from College pitching coaches. I look forward to following his career and hope to get to sit with his dad Brinkley at a game next season.

Greensboro Colt loses to Covina, CA 7-4 to even their record at 1-1. I heard some of the webcast. Sounds like Greensboro gave up too many walks and errors early (scored three runs on no hits) then left the starter in too long as Covina batted around in the 6th, scoring four runs. Covina reliever came on in the 4th after Greensboro took the lead and shut them down the rest of the way.

    Greensboro 001 300 0 - 4 5 4
    Covina, CA 201 004 X - 7 6 1

    LP - Carter
    WP - Fitzgerald

Tivon Clark was 2-3 3B, RBI run
Mike Whited 1-2, DB, W RBI run

not sure of any other stats.

The Palomino team is playing it's first game right now against Taiwan but don't have any scores.
