I just found the Lake Monsters new website. Coach Allen is doing a great job getting these guys into some good tournaments for some college exposure.

In case you haven't found it

    Smart and smooth SS

I umpired one of their games this year and came away very impressed with the team and the boy at SS Josh Lovick was outstanding.

Josh was a great pick up for the Lake Monsters. You hit the nail on the head when you said "smart and smooth". I understand he is an excellent student and a great SS too!

    Lake Monsters

Raymond is a guy that spends many hours a day working with kids all year long. Think about the amont of work it has taken to get this team off the ground. Now think about how much effort it has taken to put on tryouts etc and then put it all together for these kids. Its guys like Raymond that make it possible for so many kids to get these types of opportunities. We need more people like Raymond Allen in this game of ours. People who do so much for so little for kids that they dont even know. There were alot of skeptics when the Lake Monsters first started up. Ray has made it happen and they have done very well. Congrats Raymond , I know your having a great time with this keep it going.

Ray is doing a very good job getting this program off the ground. He does tons of work behind the scenes, and does a very good job of keeping his kids' best interest at heart. Great guy to work with.

It's been fun, and definately a learning experience. I've had a lot of behind the scenes help. The 16 yr. old team we've put together is not a bad team either. They're off to a better start than the older guys. I'll be posting info about them on the website later, when I finish the 17's. I'm trying to do a little every night, but between me and my computer, we're both not very skilled.

Is Lovick the kid from Kinston? That kid is tough. Bigtime 2010 player.
