Lets us this thread to discuss the different clubs, how much they play, when they play, cost, and if they have the same problems that follows travel ball in softball, such as players being recruited off of another team, the players who fall under the label of "butterfly". those kind of things, come on people, educate me.....

    cost

Well....volleyball does not require a $300 Rocket Tech.

One of the things I noticed at Volleyball tournaments is that each team seems to carve out some space for their team to gather and eat. We all chipped in to provide food (sandwiches, fruit, snacks, drinks etc.). That seemed to save time in trying to run out to the local Mickey D's. And the cost of concessions. Of course, more people may do the tailgate thing now as cost of travel seems to keep climbing.

    Cheeze,
I'm new to this volleyball scene but the one thing that surprised me about club volleyball as compared to travel softball is that everybody seems to be a free agent at the beginning of the year. In other words, there seems to be no expectation of staying together as a team. Tryouts every year, and you tryout for several clubs and choose the one you like the best, based on the coach or the money or location or whatever. Cost for a regional team is around $800 to $1000, tourneys Jan-April. National teams play longer and cost more. And also all those comments are based on the limited knowledge I've gotten about the Charlotte area. By the way, where are all the Charlotte area posters? Haven't seen too many posts about the area high schools, and there are some very good teams in Charlotte, Concord, Gastonia, public and private.

    I'm Confused eastside

eastside I am confused?? The link you providied gives information about both Piedmont and Triad Volleyabll clubs and I understand the connection as I have been involved with Piedmont Nationals this past year. Is the "Set Point Volleyball Club" part of the umbrella of Piedmont VBC?? Just asking as some other people may be confused like me??

Piedmont Volleyball Club Regional and National team info

Thought I would put out the website link for Piedmont Volleyball Club for both Regional and National teams. Be sure you read the site carefully and check out ALL the info for both types of teams. For the National teams they have posted the fees, tryout dates and times and also a tentative schedule.
