Once again, a day of rain, and people cant come to a ball game. Tornadoes, Hurricanes, or rain to the excess to where the fields are torn up - acceptable. But, a little bit of rain? Come on!! Play The Games!! Postponing these games is nothing short of a detriment, especially if a big game is looming the next week which would limit their preparation times.

And dont give this lame excuse of losing money. That's a steaming crock of donkey doo.

While I agree with your statement, High School Football in NC is about 1 thing...making money.....as soon as they stop letting 4 win teams in the playoffs, they will stop postponing games due to a light drizzle. And since Football subsidizes most every other sport, they need the biggest gates they can get. 50 degrees and rain will keep folks at home.

let's estimate that the average gate on a Friday night is $6,000. If it's raining the gate is going to suffer by 50%. That's $3,000 taken from the athletic budget. Remember there for the most part no advance tickets and no TV money coming in. It may be donkey doo to you but 'scold hard financial fact that it's important to these schools to have as big a gate as possible. Most sports are non revenue and football carries the freight.

No offense, but with the majority of athletic departments just scraping by at best, moving to another day in hope of making more than you will make on a rainy night is a good move.

Big move by Bunker HIll as their game was watched by a lot of local schools. I noticed some NC, Bandys, SS, and Hky players walking around. Those were just the ones I know for a fact was there. BH still does not have a good booster program unless you play baseball.
