Georgia High School Championships...

    This past weekend I had the opportunity to attend the Georgia State HS softball championships held at the South Commons softball complex in Columbus, GA. All I can say is the field conditions, concession stands and professionalism were all first class. Despite much rain overnight Thurs night, the fields were in outstanding shape.

    The format was double elimination. Instead of taking four teams in each classification, it was eight teams. The brackets included the top four teams from each sectional (North and South).

    Without going into which teams were which, the softball was outstanding with many college scouts in attendance.

    Did you see the 1A pitcher from ELCA?

    Hope Rush is a Georgia Tech commitment. She is regarded as the states best pitcher and hitter.

    I did watch parts of the A championship game against Gordon Lee HS. Great game and she has a lot of talent, for sure.
