In another thread I have been having fun with a an old college teammate (ThrowHeat22). We have been remembering some of our finer moments in college. I have to say I am envious of the kids who are heading off to college. This is a wonderful time in your life. Enjoy it because it goes by quickly. I am fortunate because of the friendships I have maintained from my days at Maryland. We actually have our own thread that is abolsutely crazy...totally uncensored. The beauty of this Terrapin thread is that it proves one thing...you can never take the lockeroom or the dugout out of a player. Reading these daily jabs on line makes me realize that we really are boys who have to act grown up and responsible...but we never really do. Baseball keeps us in our youth whether we were players or parents of players. It connects generations and builds life long relatiosnships...and a ton of great stories

You boys going off to college cherish this time in your life because it will fly by, but what you will get from this experience will last a lifetime. The quote goes "Growing old is inevitable...growing up is an option" and baseball people usually opt to not growing up...they just fake it really well.

My Salute and Proof to this theory

To the "The Knights of the Road Trip Round Table" where big hairy overwieght men talk amd act like we are still in high school. Cheers

To the Parents who chose to hide my truck in Greenwood, SC...I am planning big things for you! Cheers

To you kids that are going off to play in college... All of us old hairy has beens are envious. We wish you all success first in the classroom and secondly on the field. Cheers

OH YEAH...if you want to be around the kind of people we talking about for one heck of a night of celebrating baseball in our area go to the Hot Stove Banquet! Baseball in our area truly comes together on January 24th.
