Catching Camp--CANCELLED

If there are enough players interested I would be glad to put on a catching camp within the next couple of weeks. I have several current college catchers that would be interested in working this camp as well as some former college catchers as well. It would be a one day camp that would last from 9am to 4pm.

Receiving
Blocking
Setting Up
Stances
Fielding Bunts and blocked third strikes
Pop ups
Throwing mechanics
Flexibility training
Drills to improve footwork
Conditioning drills for catchers

And the mental aspects of the posistion.

I would have pitchers at the camp to throw to catchers and baserunners so we can work on throwing to all bags.

Just PM me if you would be interested asap. I would like to keep the age groups from 8th - 12th grade

And of course it would be for the serious player only , wanting to work very hard and learn.

I would have four catchers in each group with an instructor. They would rotate from one station to the next the entire day.

Cost will depend on how many players want to attend. As long as I have at least 8 catchers wanting to come I will put it on. Let me know asap.

Im thinking Dec 20th will be the best day.

I know a young catcher that is always looking to get better.

When I asked him if he wanted to go he said "sign me up."

I have already heard from several players wanting to come. Its going to be a great camp for catchers looking for instruction and ways to improve.

I have some great instructors lined up to work the camp.


And I will add a couple of more names to the list soon.

I do not know of a better catching instructor than Rusty. He is simply outstanding at teaching the posistion.

The cost will be 50.00 for the camp.

I will have some quality arms to throw to the catchers as well.

I'd like to add my two cents about Rusty May. Rusty has the same enthusiasm for helping kids get better that his uncle, Coach 27 has. I've never heard him say no to a suggestion or request about helping with baseball. Very enrgetic and hard working young man who could suit it up and play tomorrow. Any catcher who is relatively close by should take advantage of this workout. Be ready to work if you attend.

 

Freddy Suggs is already hosting a camp on December the 13th. Maybe you guys can contact him and work together.

The camp

will be at South Granville HS in Creedmoor , NC. You can pm me for directions. I have already spoken to Freddy and I am aware he is having a camp. I would assume that there are plenty of young men wanting to get instruction for both camps.

You have to keep your numbers down at a catchers camp to ensure that they get one on one instruction and plenty of reps. I would encourage anyone that wants to attend Freddy's camp to make sure they do it.

Catcher's Camp!

Will the pinto bean cart be in operation? I am thinking it might be worth the road trip for those and a bag of peanuts from southern1.
