You better find a strong player to match up with Gellman inside. We have a couple strong and physical post players, but Gellman was a beast last night. We knew she would be tough, but really focused on ball pressure and it worked. The only other post player in the conference that can compete with Gellman inside is Brinkley. I thought Chapman did a great job on her last night, we just missed some assignments a few times and shes just flat out good.

But- BigDan- don't think anyone in Asheville is giving any credit to you guys so guess they won't have a problem with the Titans will they?

WHS does have a very strong inside attack with Nicole Tesh and Katherine Mayhew. If the coaches find the way to keep pounding the ball inside to these two, they will be tough to handle. Tesh is especially a hard match-up because of the height, length and athletism. But who knows if that will be the game plan and they are prone to foul trouble.

Iam surprised by the Freedom/McDowell final and I think this should give AC and South Caldwell alot of confidence that they can now compete for the conference championship.Congrats to Freedom but much tougher challenges lie ahead for the Lady Patriots.

McDowell knows their strengths and their weakness- They play to the strength all the time--Patience- swing Ball and it has to go to POST then out for 3 if needed. Credit to good coaching.
I have not predicted NW4A but I will now say McDowell will have 3 or 4 conf lossess and finish 2nd! Doubt anyone but FHS will sweep them-
McD has to leave to many open players to guard Ford so as long as they score when open I still think Pats will sweep.
I thought FHS was baited into taking a few Bad shots by McD last night when a little patience might have opened that game up when it was 13 pt game.

Hey it's pretty boring on here without you all. All we have heard is how Watauga is better (which i'm glad and we'll see Friday) and how good AC Reynolds is and South too. That's just great for everyone that our conference is better.

If McDowell plays as they did last night, I see them going 9-3 or 10-2. If they don't play with that intensity, then they could loose another game or so.

They have our respect everytime we meet as I'm sure we have their respect as well.

I guess we will find out on Tuesday.

As we talked about schedules the other day- who has ACR played this year that's strong?

At least South played Forestview and McDowell has now played TCR, ER and us.

I agree with Thad, if McDowell can play the kind of game they played against Freedom they will finish right behind Freedom in the conference. Freethrow shooting will need to improve. In the 3 loses for MHS they have shoot bad from the line. I don't know how many they missed in the Freedom game, but it was alot. Who knows if it could have made a difference or not. Overall a good game and we hope to see Freedom 3 more times this year.

A player knowingly attempting a freethrow to which she is not entitiled is a technical foul in the NCAA. Does the same rule apply to high school.

Try to define "knowingly" and you will be way past any refs abilities I have seen. All good players know if you are involved in a collision and theres a foul called- the better FT shooter goes to the line
and BTW the other girl for FHS hit them Both... and don't try to say you would coach that any different because I "know" you wouldn't...haha

I was just curious dribbles. Ali was not in the area where the foul was called. Everyone in the gym knew who got fouled. So the refs could have called a tech? Right.
