05 and 07 models were really bad about this, so far, the 08's are holding there own with less than one half of one percent returns. (approx 50,000 bats sold in Jan and Feb). many bats (even the composites) are limited to 55degrees plus for usage.

I'm interested to see the stats this fall and spring on the new 09 techzilla, as this is an internal sleeve bat (like the mikens of old) and they are claiming it will withstand the cold weather.....time will tell..

talking to some of the engineers out west, here is some information we all can use.

most composite bats were designed for MEN...including the stealth...in order to lighten the bat for use by our girls in fastpitch, the outer wall of the bat is greatly reduced in thickness which made the handle/barrel connection weak and difficult to keep an end cap in the bat. this makes the bats hotter, but also more fragile and they have a very, very short life, which, i understand, is one of the two reasons why this bat was pulled from production....the other is the new ASA rating system....Easton will not sell a product with these problems, as they pride themselves on quality and back up their products with a good warrantee....hats off to them!!!!!

Just found this site by accident and was pleased i did, Cheeze im glad to find another fan of the R/Ts, that actualy knows about them, we have used the R/T since the famous black pin head 04 model, and dd has realy cared for nothing else, people talk about the pop of differet bats but the 04/05 models in the hands of a true power hitter was no longer a bat it became a weapon, we have tried the newer models of R/T but none can match the pop of the older generation. wich is why in 06 they shut down production to dumb down the 07.s (wich had a ton of flaws) to keep in step with the new guide lines.
Something that we discoverd that added years of life to our bats was the use of a winter bat, until recently there was no end loaded composite so we had to make due with what we could find, when the Rip it Force came out as a composite end load it solved a world of problems for us,, force in the cold and 05 R/T when it warmed up.
She has been given a Pitch Black CF3 to try and out do the R/T but the jury is still out on it although she says theres not as much vibration on the cf3 if you miss the sweet spot , especialy n colder weather.
But wanted to tell you i enjoy your Info on the R/T and look forward to reading more of your posts

    Tim

My DD went from the Rockettech 30/21 to the Stealth 31/21 and went into a major slump. Purchased the Techzilla 31/21 and she really loves it. Came out of the slump and several of her teammates used it last year. Great bat.

No we have been abusing a CF3 for the last month or so, i got lucky and have low frinds in high places so i got a loaner , we live in south west ohio, so the r/t,s are out of the equation till warmer weather unless we play indor ball, whats your thought on the teczila, would be interested in hearing it. dd hasent made the decision of what to replace her last 05 R/T with, cf3 has a ton of pop and is a little more forgiving on hands if you miss the sweet spot, but the jury is still out
