NW4A MID-SEASON AWARDS

    WHS should not be left out of the picture

    1) Hargrave-AC
    Newell-WHS
    Ford-FHS
    Shuffler-EBHS
    Kincaid-FHS
    2) Jeff Newell WHS- He has stepped up to lead a very young team for our school to a surprising success and leads them to a near top conference position... let's see what happens tonight versus Freedom

    3) Rob Sanders- What else needs to be said about the success he is having with a very unexperienced team which now has tons of it.

    4) Damian Edwards- surprising defense and always a mistake to leave him open at any spot on the court

    5) WHS- no one would expected this

    6) Watauga/East Burke- Jeff Newell/Shuffler... outstanding

    7) Jeff Newell/Shuffler... outstanding

    8) Sam Ford FHS

    9) WHS- especially if we pull out a victory against Freedom tonight

    10)Watauga High School- every night we scream for our team and put large amounts of pressure on our opponents. also there is a lot of fun to be had while in the student section because of crazy outfits, chants, and halftime excitement... and yes i did win that twister game during halftime

    10) WHS. Their fans go insane every night, they give Watauga the best home court advantage out of anyone in the NW4A. I think their players get behind the fans to drive them each game.

    1) Shuffler-EB
    Ford- Freedom
    Kincaid- Freedom
    Hargrave- AC
    Newell- WHS

    2) POY- At the begging of the season, i would have gone with Shuffler for POY. But as the season has wore on, Jeff Newell from watauga has really proved he is a great player. their matchup in boone was way more than exciting. they are both great players.

    3) COY- Rob Sanders- WHS. Leading this young team to a great surprise season definitely earns him this one. He seems to be a great teacher for these young guys.

    4) Best Sixth Man- #10 kid on Watauga. Coffey I think. he does a great job of getting the crowd fired up and sparks the gym.

    5) Suprize team- WHS, Enough said.

    6) Best Team Match- Up- Freedom at East Burke

    7) Best player matchup- Shuffler and Newell in boone.

    8) 3 Pt. Shooter- Sam Ford heard he lit up around 9 3's on watauga

    9) Team No one Should Take lightly- McDowell. when they are on, they are on

    10) Best Fans- Watauga. they are very loud and they can get in the head of opposing teams.
