    Sanderson Senior

    Charles Wolfe-6'5 195 RHP Unsigned
Charles Wolfe has a great pitchers body with great mechanics. Not only can he dominate games with his outstanding control, but he wins the mind battle with most every batter. He doesn't throw, he pitches. He has a great feel for his 3 pitches (FB,CB,CH). He was the CAP-7 Pitcher of Year with a sub-1 ERA. Velocity isn't exactly where it should be considering his size but it is inside that body somewhere. Right now he stays consistently in the 84-85 range. As of now he planning on going to VT and he plans to tryout for the team. This kid has a chance! Get his velocity where it should be and he is something to be wrecking with on the hill!

He's a very interesting prospect. I'd certainly like to see him pitch

someone needs to help the young man understand that the traditional walk on spot at the large schools is almost nonexistant because of scholarship limitations I wish people could educate these kids on the way it is rather than the way it should be And I know most of the JUCO;s including us are still and always looking for Arms

Jacob Spragins-- Roanoke Rapids High School

Jacob Spragins of Roanoke Rapids High School

Jacob is a 6'4" 195lb. RHP. He has an athletic body with room to grow. Jacob has an above average fastball with room to add more mph as he continues to develop. He also has a late breaking curveball. His final pitch is a change-up with decent movement. We are still working on this pitch with him.

Jacob is still developing as a pitcher because he has never concentrated only on baseball. He has been a varsity football, basketball, and baseball player since his 10th grade year here at RRHS. He is a two time all-conference player in baseball (batted over .400 and led the team in doubles and RBI over the last two seasons) and has been all-conference in both football and basketball. This shows the type of athlete that Jacob is. Jacob is also very coachable. He listens and learns every day at practice. He continues to grow as a player each season. He has a great attitude and is a fine young man on and off the field.

I have seen him pitch several times. Very good pitcher, and will help Sanderson alot this spring.

BTW... Freddy Suggs can give you the scoop on Charles too, he played for Freddy in the past and I am sure Freddy has been working for Charles.

I believe the new scholarship limits make talented walk ons very valuable. Can you explain your take on it?

I just dont see a ton of kids "walking on" in the traditional sense of just showing up to the 1/2 day tryout and making the team, I dont mean to say that kids are not brought in as "Recruited Walkons" where the team ask them to come just with out scholarship. Many kids just say I am going to go to X university and go through the walk on tryout and expect to get a spot on a team that is Very close to full because of roster limitations.

Walker Smith, a RHP for NW Cabarrus. He's 6' and about 230lbs. Throws a very accurate fastball in the upper 80's. Has strong legs and can throw it all day. I hear he's been working with Bryan Harvey and has gotten his curve and changeup working alot better.

Ross Snotherly - Athens Drive - Big kid/RHP. Athens' QB also, being recruited by NCSU and other major schools to play QB. Good looking RHP.

    Bryan Tuttle Hibriten High School

Bryan Tuttle 6'1 RHP Mid 80s fastball and off speed that buckles. 12-1 with 2 saves in 2008. Great control and a kid that knows how to win.
