My son hit a big tater at Sims Park in Gastonia this past fall. His grandpa before the game told everyone he was going to hit one out for him. Hunter told him he would. Dang if he didn't, signed the ball and gave it to him. Proud grandpa that never misses a game. Meant alot to my son, me and my wife's dad!! To hear his grandpa talk, that shot has gone from 385 to 450 in less than one week! One proud grandpa who keeps the ball right in the den of the house to show off.

This past summer, I had a guy painting my kitchen and he noticed my son getting ready for baseball practice. Small talk led to tell me to tell him we were heading to Cooperstown in a couple of weeks for a tournament. He said he goes up twice a year to sell memorabilia and works for a few of the retired players. I was kind of thinking, " yea, right". He said he would bring my son some of his stuff. Well, he did. Signed balls by Steve Carlton, Whitey Ford, Robin Robin Roberts, and Bob Feller. Signed cards by Feller,Al Kaline, Bob Doerr, Bob Gibson, Goerge Kell, Robin Roberts. A pic of Fenway signed by Jim Rice. I was shocked!
