    HAYDEN UNTZ

I know that Hayden Untz can play up there !

For those of you that don't know this kid - he has been through the ringer that last couple of years. He had an odd tendon / bone growth problem in his elbow that sidelined him for almost a year. Then, just as he was coming back from that, he had another odd injury -a hip bone injury that required special surgery and a long recovery of another year.

This kid, now a junior, can flat out play (and he has worked his rear end off to get back onto the field). I am so happy for him and his dad - they get to play ball this year ! I look forward to watching him and his team do well.

I had the pleasure of watching Hayden play in his first game back on the field since the surgery this past summer. To say that he has busted his butt to get back on the field is an understatement. While still not at 100% at the time we played he flat out delivered at the plate. Still had some rust on the wheels on the bases, but that will be gone if not already. Great kid who wants it bad! Here is to Hayden enjoying a healthy and productive year.

    Hopewell

Hopewell definately has a nice field and some good players. Coach Brown is a great coach and Hopewell is lucky to have them. Charlotte is loaded with talent and it will be fun watching Charlotte area teams like AKHS, MPHS, PHS, and HHS.

Well we've heard from the Hopewell fans. Sounds like they may be overlooking their neighbors at North Meck. Very similar programs with several upperclassmen supported by solid JV players moving up. You need to take care of the MECA7 before you jump in with the crowd along I485

No disrespect intended for North Meck! I mentioned they were conference co-champions last year. Both teams graduated several seniors and have strong players remaining/moving up. Also in the MECA-7 keep an eye on Robinson and Mallard Creek. This should be an interesting season!

There are some players at some of these schools whose names will be known by season's end.
