Pratt's first start at catcher for the Wolfpack: 4-5, HR, 4 RBI in a win over Santa Clara. He had two hits as a DH previously earlier in the weekend. Congrats, big Pratt!

I got to see the home run live today and it was really special for all of us that like this young man. Amazing to see him catch a college game since I had never seen him catch in high school. Pratt played with the Stretchlon Stars when he was 13. What a great day for the family.

    Stretchy,

Pratt never caught one inning in high school nor did he ever even catch BP. But he did catch a lot in little league and some in middle school. It's just a great testament to his ability and willingness to do whatever it takes for the team. I talked to him after the game and he was pumped but as humble as ever. He has the rare ability to project swagger and humility simultaneously!

Funny story about Pratt. He called my brother after the game to tell him how he dad done. He went on to say that he hit a bases loaded single in his first College AB and that the crowd went nuts. Pratt said "it was the best baseball experience of his life". The funny part was that I was telling a umpire the story on saturday and come to find out he was umpiring the game. He sayed that Pratt was standing on first with big eyes like he had seen a ghost. The umpire proceeded to say nice shot big guy and Pratt said thanks and stuck his hand out to shake the umpires hand. Obviously there was no hand shake but I thought that was pretty funny. So proud of Pratt keep it up!!

way to go Pratt. I did an NCSU scrimmage this fall and was shocked when the catcher wound up being none other than Pratt Lee(if anyone has ever seen him play, they know his middle name). All I can say is, he is a great young man who will do well and I think that has alot to do with the fact he played for Kevin Ferrell and Kenny May. Kenny may razz you a little, but you will be hard pressed to find two nicer guys in baseball.

    Pratt Maynard....

.....I have heard and read about Pratt for a couple of years and I was finally fortunate enough to see Pratt play a high school game last year for S. Granville against Rose but I had the misfortune of having my son pitch against him in that game so I really never saw any of Pratt's at bats because I had my EYES CLOSED. :worried:

    Where the credit goes

Hate to disagree with a previous poster, but I believe the credit of Pratt being such a great young man should go to his parents Pratt and Angie. I believe they spent a little more time with him while he was growing up. They are great people. Not to belittle his coaches at all. Go Pratt Lee always thought you where a great catcher when you were younger, glad the guys at State saw this also.
