    LIVE WEBCAST

The Trojans play "survive and advance" with a hard fought 75-74 comeback win over Green Hope in the NCHSAA 4A play-off opener. The top-seeded Trojans trail most of the game and by as much as twelve. Senior DaMetrius Upchurch sinks two critical free throws with 48 seconds to go for the final margin. A frenzied finish has the Falcons coming up short on their final four possessions and Garner moves on to second round action Wednesday night. Upchurch paces the Trojans with 21 and ten rebounds with Cordero Hunter adding 17 and Albert Smith 13.

Did McDowell have a bad night or is East Gaston that good? OR both. Does A.C.H.S have a shot at them?

To be honest it was a combo

Are they significantly better than us? Yes....
Are they 47 points better than us?...uh, I didn't think they were.

East Gaston has a couple kids about 6'6" and about 3 guys who can shoot the ball pretty decent. They drained 12 three-pointers against us.

Being on their home court, Alexander Central will need a good game from Hargrave and some good shooting from outside...its critical IMO to start on a good note. We didn't last night, took good shots but they didn't fall, next thing you know, it's 21-4 at the end of the 1st quarter.

East Gaston is the #1 seed from their conference, AC is the #2 seed from the NW4A, EG will play @ home.

    Alexander Central can beat them.
