ac played a heck of a game. refs were awful. sometimes refs effect the game, but in all honesty, these refs really took the game away from us. terrible calls in the 3rd quarter. even with that said, ac still had a chance in the closing minutes. ac is better than east gaston, hands down. cant do much when your team has 3 times as many fouls in the 2nd half. just another poor job by refs in the charlotte area.

The announcer was the best cheerleader EG had. First time I have heard announcer leading cheers on the PA.

Freedom game tonight was a dandy. Great ball game. I loved watching two quality teams go at it. Harding was on FIRE in the 1st half. There point guard #20 was a stud. However the better Coach, Casey Rogers, coached his rear end off and made some great halftime adjustments to allowed the Patriots to win.

As for Alexander getting jobbed by Charlotte officials, I cannot say I am surprised. Watauga's Charlotte officials monday were bad. The officiating when you get to the Charlotte area is comical.

    AK 43, Butler 42

Ardrey Kell moved on with a 43-42 win at home over Butler. Down 8 at the half and about 5 starting the fourth, the Knights slowly crept into the lead and traded the lead back and forth for the final couple minutes before pulling it out when Butler's last second attempt drew nothing but air. Great job by the Knights to pick up the scoring load with their leading scorer being held to only 5 points on the night. If the scores in this thread are correct, the Knights will be at East Gaston on Friday night.

Anytime you go to Charlotte and play, the officials will let you beat
and bang. I was at the EB - Myers Park game and all of the EB players
were stunned when the aggressive plays were not called. Shuffler was
the only one that could handle it. He finished with 31 of the teams 53
pts. Freedom's speed will be to much for Myers Park. They are very
big and athletic, but I think most of these guys will foul out playing at
Freedom without their customary officals. I know I will be there, this is
one you don't want to miss.

Refs don't affect the outcome of games, never have, never will.....AC had a great season, they won the most games in school history....they were let down by what has troubled them all year they only have 1 true athlete on the team and his name is Dockery.....Hargrave as great as he is isn't near the athlete that Dock is.....it was always their downfall.....that being said it is a credit to Ed Wills for the coaching job he did night in and night out....congrats on a great season, congrats to Ryan Hargrave (the best AC has ever had)....you will be missed, good luck at your selected school!
