Baseball Factory is the scouting partner with Baseball America. They hold events across america seeking talented high school players and helping them get national attention.

They recently paired with UnderArmour and held an event in Rocky Mount. I want you to pay attention to a name of a junior that is rapidly rising on everybody's radar. He's Chase Macdonald of R.H. Rose High School.

For those across the state that may not know Chase, don't worry...you will:omg: The first thing that you will obviously notice is his size:

6'3" 245lbs....and that ain't baby fat! The kid is a "hoss". Chase also swims competitively during the off season, so he is a slim 245lbs. But here is the scary part: Chase is an extremely hard worker. He is constantly working in the batting cages.

The kid can flat out mash the ball!!!

So, I recommend to my good friend, Coach Danny Hignight, at Providence that when they see Chase in Cary on Saturday....look over in the stands for his dad (he will be easily spotted) and give him a wink...as Chase receives another free pass with an intentional walk.

There were three players mentioned in this article and Desean Anderson was one of those coveted (Best Prospect), but I mentioned Chase (Mattingly Award for Top Hitter) simply because he is an undergrad and one player we will be reading a lot about now and in the future.

sorry guys, at this time it won't let me link:

Coached against him this summer in the Babe Ruth state all-star tourney. Just when I thought I figured out how to pitch to him, he hit another out on us. Very rare for a young man that size and with that power to show the patience he does at the plate.

    He has a big future.

Braves, the young man ain't exactly a stranger to the free pass.

hey guys, been lurking a while but I finally have a reason to post. The Johnathan Bethea kid listed twice in the article, is that the same kid that was at Page High last year? I am assuming it has to be but I didn't know he had left Page. I also didn't realize he was a pitching prospect, thought he was strictly a 1st baseman. He would be one to keep an eye out for in that 2011 class. Don't hear his name much, but the kid can play. I am not surprised that he is starting to get noticed a bit.
