    HS team wins 10-0 in 5 innings....Winning team throws 5 different pitchers..Each pitcher pitches 1 scoreless inning..Score was 3-0 after 1, 5-0 after 2, 8-0 after 3, 9-0 after 4.........
Which pitcher gets the win ? Also as in MLB, how many innings does a starter need to pitch to quilify for a win in HS ?

I will be interested in the answers. I have heard several different versions and arguments. I was under the impression the starting pitcher had to throw an "official" game to earn the win.. Keep in mind when I reference "official" game I am talking about it what it takes to make the game official in the event it is called due to weather, lighting, etc... That is 5 innings in a 9 inning game and 4 in a 7 inning game, I think...

for some reason i think whoever threw the 3rd inning (5 inning slaughter rule for a 7 inning game) or 5th inning (7 inning slaughter rule for 9 inning game).

    maybe i just dreamed that

    Team group effort rule

In the above case the head coach can decide the winning pitcher. In high school the starter needs to go 4 innings for the win.

Who gets the win is the official scorekeepers decision.

According to the rule book, if a game ends in 5 innings, then the starting pitcher must pitch 4 complete innings to get the win, so in this case with 5 pitchers pitching one inning each, then the winning pitcher is determined by who was the most effective pitcher. The judgement is made by the official scorekeeper.

All I know, if I am a parent keeping the official scorebook, I am not making that decision, I will ask the coach. I do not want no part of that decision.
