1)The batter swings and hits the ball , the ball rolls in front of the plate, the batter takes off and drops the bat out in fair territory between her and the pitcher the ball rolls up to the bat and stops. Is it a live ball or dead ball, and why ??

2)The batter swings and contacts the ball, and the ball hits the plate and rolls outside the lines into foul territory....fair or foul ??

Live ball. If the bat had rolled into the ball, then it would be been dead ball, interference, batter-runner out.
Assuming the ball stops, or is first touched, in foul territory, foul ball.

Okay, Guru, here's one back at you: What is it if it hits the plate and stays there?

that's and easy one, if it stays on the plate, its a fair ball, the plate is in fair territory, as the foul lines are on the back of the plate therefore making the plate fair territory.....i know, i know, most of our umps call it a foul ball when it hits the plate.....

    Answer !!

Home plate is considered in fair territory. If the ball hits home plate and rolls into foul territory, the ball is foul. If the ball hits home plate and rolls into fair territory, the ball is fair.

If the ball hits home plate and hits batter while still in the box - dead ball, Foul.
If the ball hits home plate and hits batter while out of the box - dead ball, Batter/Runner out.
