    Butler defeated Providence 5-2, I believe! Was not there but heard both teams played tough.

    good job NI..hoping for a split now this year!!

    stick..were you at the game? if so, how you like the obstruction call on bunt down 1st base line by WR, and twitch moved the runner back to 3rd and kept runner on 2nd...was that the right call?? not that it mattered, just wondering if it was right call...:smilejap:

    Right score...not sure we played as tough as we could. Both pitchers threw well. Good game through 4 1/2 innings. Too many defensive mishaps in the bottom of fifth for the Panthers. They will learn from it and move on. We are pretty sure they will bounce back just fine knowing our team.

    Yea I was there and I guess it was the right call, except I was confused as to WHY the WR runner had to go back to first. She obviously had the base made on the bunt. as for the runner on third..(was right in front of me) She was looked back and only broke for home when the ball hit the obstructing base runner and bounced away. So I could see why she had to return. It was a big call for sure and maybe some of these umps on here can help with this. Hey maybe we could do a "guru" and make it our own "You make the call" thread.

    I have no doubt they will bounce back coach. The panthers are a great bunch of tough, talented and well coached kids. I get a special kick out of playing Providence as I coached the majority of the girls at Crestdale M.S. Most say that Panther vs Bulldog is a rivalry and for some it is but for me it always seems more like a homecoming. I get to see how my middle school girls have progressed over the years.
