Kelly's HR was a bomb but that's about the only thing Carr allowed. Cary really swung the bats but you can tell Lee County ain't the same Lee County that they used to be. The opening of Southern Lee looks like it has really hurt Coach Spivey's program. Lee has some young talent and should be strong the next couple years.

I'm looking forward to the Cary and Athens showdown today in Raleigh.

    Riverside Update

    Riverside 2 (3-0, 1-0)
    East Chapel Hill 0 (2-2, 0-1)

Ari Seelinger has another great outing for Riverside scattering 5 hits over 5 1/3 innings to improve to 2-0 on the young season. Ari struck out 8 and walked 2 as the Pirates improve to 3-0 overall, and 1-0 in the PAC 6.
Scott Crane goes 2-3 for the Pirates, stealing 3 bases and driving in a run; and getting the save on the mound.

Next game: Wednesday, 3/25 Home vs. Southern; 4pm

We have missed a grand total of 5 games so far this season.

    Athens 5
    Cary 1

    WP - Ross Snotherly (CG)
    LP - Eric Pilecki

    HR - Athens' Wyatt Medlin

Cary scored in Top of the 1st and that was about it offensively. Great game by Snotherly. Medlin hit a bomb for AD late.

Cary drops to 1-1 in the conference and hosts Middle Creek on Friday night.

    Asheboro 3
    Ragsdale 2

I missed the game. Got a call on my way to the field it was over. As I heard it Ragsdale had a runner on third with one out in the seventh that got wiped out on a double play. David Coffey and Bennett Hixson pitched - not sure who got the loss.

Ragsdale now 8-1 (3-1). Hope they weren't looking ahead to Randleman on Friday night. That game looms very large now for the Mid Piedmont race.

    Well

this is a perfect example of what I talk about every year when the playoffs roll around. Ragsdale without a doubt is one of the best if not the best teams in 3A baseball. But the other team only has to be better on one night. I have no doubt they will bounce back and be fine. But just remember when the playoffs roll around and everyone is talking how "this team" and "that team" are going to "do this" and "do that" in a one and done format just about anyone can beat anyone. And any decent team can beat anyone on any given day. Asheboro fans please dont take this a slap on your team. I am sure you are a good team.

I am posting this because I watched Ragsdale at the Impact Challenge. I was extremely impressed with the talent , the team chemistry , the pitching staff is loaded and they are as well coached as any High School team you will see. They have everything it takes to win a State title. And they lose a game everyone thought they would win. When it comes to High School baseball there is no score or end result that shocks me.
