Wow, great pitching, don't know the total of K's on both sides, but I didn't see many putouts by either defense. I ran out of fingers, but I had Lomascola unofficially with 12 K's in just 5 innings of work, but what impressed me was Whitley's pitching the final 2 innings for the save, kid throws gas. Cody Laws did start for East and looked good first 2 innings, but Lake Norman got to him for 6 runs in 3rd to settle the game. Shive still hasn't pitched all year for East, he may have come in relief if East had a lead late, but I hope we'll see him soon. Definitely the 2 best teams I've seen so far this year.

Still many great head to head matchups remaining between these 2, Mooresville and I'll still include West Rowan too. Sure was cold tonite with the wind, but hotdogs were great, and great meeting LKNbaseballfan too. "Somebody" sure taught Jr how to swing the stick, he looked good at the plate all night long. Great overall team win by Lake Norman tonight.

I was at the East game tonight, I did not see you. Where were you sitting?

The game was actually a little bit of a dissapointment for me, East made some uncharacteristic mistakes and they just didn't hit the ball. Credit Lake Norman for good pitching (definitely a pitcher's ump) and making the big plays. East didn't capitalize early on when they had some chances. Cody Laws just fell apart in that 3rd inning. Pretty decent crowd out there tonight, a little chilly with the wind. I'm ready for some baseball weather.

Great to finally meet you in person. Thanks for the kind words about my son, he swung the bat well tonight. Good to see LKN swing the bat 1 through 9 in the order. Big win for LKN and looking for a big week next week as we have NWCabarrus Tues. and Mooresville THURS before taking the following week off for spring break. Hope to see you at the Mooresville game next week.....Now if the J.V team could find a coach!!!!!!!!

 

I think the JV team has a great coach. The kids are coming around and will continue to improve throughout the season.

Great game tonight by both teams. The relieve pitcher for East Rowan, Preston Smith, I believe was his name, was bringing it. This should be a great season for everyone.

 

Thanks LKNWildcat,,, I couldn't remember the relief pitcher's name for East, but he WAS bringing it. Sorry I missed you Westboy, we were down the RF line jawing with the ump between innings. I agree about the weather, I thought it was supposed to be nice this weekend,,,, that wind was brutal.

 

Another Streak Ends!

According to "The Salisbury Post", East Rowan's loss to Lake Norman was the first North Piedmont loss for the Mustangs since joining the conference. East Rowan was 25-0 against NPC teams up until the 6-2 loss Friday night.

1. Lake Norman (9-1, 6-0 NPC)
2. East Rowan (7-2, 5-1 NPC)
