    So sad

Nick signed with UNC but opted for professional baseball when he was drafted out of hs. I have been fortunate to get to know his dad who is a great person. He is such a humble guy and you had to pry information about Nick out of him. This is so sad. I can not imagine how hard this is for the entire family. My prayers go out.

I saw Nick throw a no hitter at the Tarboro Easter Classic when he was a soph. at St. Maria Goretti HS. This is a tragic way to lose a fine person.

Wow... it just goes to show us all that every moment we have with our kids is a blessing.

This is so sad. My heart goes out to his family. Does anyone have their address if we should want to send a card.

My son had the great fortune to catch Nick at the 2003 East Coast Professional Baseball Showcase. I remember the first pitch from his hand was 96 mph on the radar gun that were set up for the fans/scouts. His talent was truly obvious even then. MLB and all baseball fans have lost a great talent and kid but the biggest loss is to his family and friends. I can't even begin to imagine their grief. My heart and prayers go out to them.
