The Breast Cancer Game--Providence vs Watauga

For those looking for a game to attend on Saturday, drop by Providence HS in Charlotte for an extremely competitive game. There are many side stories with this game, but the most important one is the donations to fight breast cancer.

Coach Danny Hignight, with Coach Pete Hardee's consent, wanted to do something special instead of your typical endowment game. As many of you are aware, the color pink is represented as the "color for cure" of this deadly disease. With this in mind, both schools will be breaking out a one time only pink jersey to wear for this game. I don't know about you guys, but to see Hignight and Hardee in a pink jersey is worth the price of admission.

I hope all of you have the opportunity to attend this event:

- It's the Master vs the Grasshopper in coaching
- It's two of the best teams in the state
- Two teams that respect each other, but don't like each other
- Mountain boys vs the City boys
- A chance to meet one of the great heroes in baseball: Will Dicus

...and most importantly, playing the game to help in the cure for breast cancer.

Doubleheader possibility

Why not double your fun by visiting AK at 1:00pm for a preliminary game as the Knights host North Meck before crusing over to the Big P for the Pioneer-Panther clash?

 

It should be an awesome game, here is to a great game, with good umpiring, good baseball, with GREAT weather in the 75 range. I have had enough of this 50 degree garbage with wind.

It should be fun watching Coach Hardee and Coach Hignight in the pink uni's. Also thanks to whoever is providing the pink jerseys, thats a great cause.

 

Military Night at Myers Park

Myers Park has teamed up with the Charlotte USO and organized a military night for this Friday, April 17th. The Mustangs will be rocking the jungle green camo in honor of our troops. After the game a silent auction will be held and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to the USO.. Should be an excellent event. Alll service men and women will enter the gates for free branding their military ID.

What happened?

I couldn't get back into town in time to go to the Breast Cancer Game yesterday. The live feed from the game stopped in the 5th with Providence up 5-4, I couldn't find any posts on TBR, and the paper didn't have anything but the score in it this morning. I need to know more than just the score. Someone help a brother out.

 

Tyler Zupcic hit a walk off HR in the bottom of the 7th for a 6-5 Prov victory.
