Blue type quoted from a classic guru post

    "Dawg Definition:

    1. Slang for "my close acquaintance of an African-American ethnic background"

    2. Word to be used in place of a name, or other personal noun or pronoun to be used in place of a name.

    3. Another meaningless piece of that hideous massacre of the English language they call ebonics.
    1. Wuddup dawg?
How are you doing my close acquaintance of an African-American ethnic background?

    2. Wuddup dawg? Wuddup antwoineeshaye?

    3. They're too painful to list

    And he's all ours".

FYI here is a slang dictionary definition of the colloquialism "DAWG"and another links to help you under stand it is not at all meaningless as you stated in your very funny commentary. In fact it seems to be quite the opposite to many people across varied social and ethnic backgrounds.

I thought the definition of "dawg" was a reference to a subspecies of humans native to an area in Georgia northeast of Atlanta, centered around the town of Athens. This subspecies in known for loud, boistrious behavior induced by alcohol and football, mainly being observed in the fall of the year. They can become highly agitated by anything colored orange.
