We are trying to get a good 23U tournament program started in NC.
I currently have 4 - 23U teams entered in our East Coast Fireworks.
In an effort to give more options, Ray Chandler has agreed to have a 23U bracket in his Early Bird tournament as well. Please contact Ray or Sharyn at [email protected] if interested.
    Thanks,

    What are the rules?

I have been considering trying to get a 23U team together with some of our local college girls (including my own DD) to give them something to keep their skills sharp over the summer.

What are the rules for a 23U team? Are they any different than regular travel teams? What about NCAA rules? I am specifically concerned about...

Do they have to be sanctioned?

How many girls from the same college team can be on a travel team?

Can an assitant college coach play and/or coach the team if girls from her college team are on the travel team?

The last thing I want to do is try to do something for the girls and inadvertantly violate some NCAA rule(s) that could affect them.

    Be careful

    Lots of NCAA rules

If you play ASA, yes... women's major independent, no
Only 4 from each college team.
College coach or asst coach CANNOT coach any of their kids.

Can a coach play? Someone that was a senior last year and is now a asst-coach?

I think coaches are ok to play

From everything I've been told, an asst. coach can play without any issues.
Charlie??? Is that a correct statement??? Anything NCAA would frown upon?

    It's ok as long as....

None of her players are on the team, and obviously, she is age qualified...
