    I wish....

Rose was playing at Person Friday night so I could visit that famous NC landmark. Mt. Evans. Maybe RV could add six or seven dump truck loads of dirt to our bump so that Coach Evans may feel at home at Guy Smith Stadium. It would be the hospitable thing for us to do.

Before we get another smartaleck response from someone that doesn't get it. This is an inside joke between some long time members of the board. If you don't understand that, then don't post a reply and move on to another thread.:chillpill:

I don't think anyone meant to offend Braves, at least I sure didn't, just what I thought was some good natured fun. Since I have a wife and an ex-wife, I am use doing what I am told so I will chill.

    Sad news:

In case you have not heard there is a search going on today for a member of our board. It seems he saw the post and ventured out to Person County to try and scale the front face of Mount Evans. It is believed he actually made it to the summitt but got lost on his way back down. There are rescue crews out right now as I type this searching for him. I feel really bad about the fact I posted this. It seems their are people trying to bungee jump and sky dive off of Mt Evans as well. It sickens me to see people have absolutely no respect for a National Landmark like this. People just have no respect!

    Mount Evans - Wikipedia

The highest mound in the world attracts climbers of all levels, from well experienced mountaineers to novice climbers willing to pay substantial sums to professional mountain guides to complete a successful climb. The mound, while not posing substantial technical climbing difficulty on the standard, still has many inherent dangers such as altitude sickness, weather and wind. By the end of the 2008 baseball season, there had been 4,102 ascents to the summit by about 2,700 individuals.[4] Climbers are a significant source of tourist revenue for Person County, whose government also requires all prospective climbers to obtain an expensive permit, costing up to $25,000 per person.[5] Mt. Evans has claimed 210 lives, including eight who perished during a 1996 season high on the mountain. Conditions are so difficult in the death zone that most corpses have been left where they fell. Some of them are visible from Durham county.[6]
