Ifs and Buts! Are you kidding me?

Complaining about something that does not matter and will not change anything is just as bush! An excuse for losing is still losing! As much as I like and pull for the Watauga team, fact is South came to play and Watauga did not. Congrats to Cody for pitching a fantastic game. Littlejohn, I thought did a really nice job too. Good luck to both teams in the playoffs!! I would love to see you play again this year!

I was at the game last night and I do agree that it looked like South came to play. My hat is off to them. All though they did not face WHS #1 you cannot fault them for that because South did what they were suppose to. WHS does have it alot harder than South does in the playoffs and there are no doubts about that so I did not disagree with WHS not throwing their ace.

What a fantastic first post Baseball Nut!!

Believe me no one was more upset about not playing at Deal Stadium than the players and fans at South. For many of these boys that's their "home" field, either from middle school or Legion.
It's a shame that my son has talked so much lately about how classy the Watauga boys are. (And then YOU post something like this) He has been talking to the guys and forming great friendships and this will be a huge advantage this summer for all of them when they join together to play for Post 29.
I left Watauga last night talking about how nice the parents were that I had met for the first time. One of those parents I talked to made that drive on Saturday and agreed there was no way to play. So Baseball Nut not everyone at Watauga feels the way you do.
I'll take safety over pitching rotation any day!! Wet fields are too risky and my son's future is worth more than one ballgame, win or lose.

For all those South fans reading this forum...
Don't let this one poster reflect poorly on Watauga's baseball team.

I was the most upset that they kept moving the game back and finally moved it to Tuesday, mostly because it affected my ability to attend the game (previous engagement last night).

I was upset too that they would have made the high school tournament start at 8:45 last night if we would have played at MS Deal. If you commit to hosting the tournament commit to the whole thing and that includes if it rains and don't make the high schools be the late game.

That being said, it has nothing to do with conspiracy theorys against South, just general problems you have by playing at a middle school. Congrats to South Caldwell on the win.

As for why we could not throw our #1 last night is because we play Weddington Friday in the playoffs. Weddington is the #5 from the SW4A and is pretty good. You cannot lose in the first round by saving pitching. AC Reynolds saved Sam Runion 2 or 3 years ago and lost to Weddington.

    Whoops!!!

It is just great to finally have a South fan admit that Deal Stadium is a home field!!!!!! Only kidding! You guys get C. Penny ready for Berry Academy. I would not underestimate the importance of winning that first round game! Hopefully we will see you guys again on the 26th.

You are right it is a home field for us (SC). I think it should be rotated every year like it used to be. Even worse in softball the tournament is held at Alexander on their regular field every year. Huge advantage to play at home for any team
