The Lake Norman Copperheads are once again looking for host families for the summer of 2009. This is a great experience for everyone involved. Players not involved in regionals will report on May 29th. Our season ends the last week in July. Some members of this board have hosted players before and I'm sure would be willing to speak with any of you who are interested. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Derek Shoe at [email protected] or at 704-305-3649.

We had members last year that helped out. I hope those members can reply to their experience in hosting players. From the one's I spoke with it was a very rewarding experience...especially the one's with youth ballplayers.

I hope we can get 6 families involved this year.....please help out if you can. The players are from all over the SE and it is so important that Coach Shue and his organization are able to supply residency for them.

    Hey guys,

We have never been in a position to help when we have not come through. Last year we had many TBR members that helped the Copperhead's summer college team out.

As of today, we have had no one to respond. That's not like us. It's an opportunity to help a player, just like your son, to have an opportunity to advance his college experience. They are talented young men from across our state and region wanting to play baseball.

This is your opportunity to give back to the game. The experience you will gain in adopting a fine young man will be a relationship that will last a lifetime. Many of these kids have gone on to the ML level and the relationships they developed with their host families are just as strong and will be long remembered.

I appeal to all our Charlotte, Huntersville, Mooresville, Statesville, and everywhere in between, TBR members to help them out.

And when you do, please send me a PM to let me know. Thanks to all the giving families that will be helping.

Any updates?...listen, just choose a poster. I'd start with Dbacks then go through the list. We'll make them an offer they can't refuse.

We have hosted for the past 2 years, but sadly are unable to assist this year. It was a great experience. My sons were able to hear exactly what college baseball and the recruiting process was all about. They also saw first hand the individual work that they do behind the scenes. The relationships formed with these youg men is invaluable. I hope some folks respond, if you do it once, you will do it again. All they ask is a bed and a few meals.
