To those with some knowledge on the subject: At 32-19 overall, 15-13 in the SoCon(#6 seed) and winners of 26 of their last 31 games, does Appalachian State have any chance of getting an at-large bid to the tournament? Or do they need to win the SoCon tournament?

More than likely have to win it all. Elon and Ga. Southern are the only ones I can see going now. If App St. does win it, that would probably know one of those 2 out. Highly unlikely So. Con. gets three.

Need to win the tournament. Couple of sites have their RPI at 78. Great season for App with a great recruiting class coming in.

App St has no chance of getting an at large bid. There only chance of making the tourney is by winning the SoCon Tourney and getting the automatic bid. Depending on who wins the tourney the SoCon can get three teams in for the first time with Elon and GA Southern locks and the possibility of Western with 34-20 record and an RPI of 49, CoC with 35-40 record and an RPI of 50 might could get an at large by making it to the championship game without winning. I wouldn't put it in the hands of the selection committee though cause they have been known to spurn a deserving SoCon team in years past.

SoCon will get 2 bids unless someone other than Elon and Georgia Southern wins the tournament, in which case they would get 3 bids.
