    Joke of a game!

    Ledford 6
    Lincolnton 0
    Game was much closer than it appears. Lincolnton was called 10 to 15 (I lost count) times for illegal pitch. I don't know where this field ump came from (escaped from the local rec league?) Lady Wolves pitcher Taylor Shelton still managed 7 K's 3 hits in 5 innings and left the game with Ledford up 1-0, a give me from the ump. What should have been a great game turned into a joke! The kid has played TB for 8 years. 2 years of college showcase, never called for an illegal pitch. How many different umps have called her games? Doesn't add up! He actually said crow hop, then changed his tune said she was stepping off the rubber and back on. Off the rubber and back on? He was not watching runners, he was bird dogging her foot on every pitch.
    I will say Kirsten Murphy pitched a great game for Ledford and I take nothing away from the the Ledford players. But the game was not decided by the players. This started in the second inning and got worse as the game went on. A strikeout or a pop up turned into a walk and then an extra base etc. We have 7 seniors, what cheap way to end their HS playing years. Harlie Roberts ended her career with a double in the seventh. Sophomore Margo Lanier also had a double
