North Davidson Vs East Forsyth : Should be a great game between cross-country rivals. East will look to get back at ND for swooping hanover right out from under them while ND will try to continue its playoff dominance. Dickerson vs Ramsey. Most think both have overachieved at this point, but just great coaching from both sides will bring a great game friday night. East got hot Tuesday against Hopewell, and even though I've followed ND ball for awhile, I like the Eagles to advance here. Must see players include - ND(Lassiter, Joyce, and Ramsey) EF(Dunlap, Dickerson, Wodarczyk)

Mount Tabor vs NW Guilford - Gotta love the CPC. Mount Tabor is hott riding behind Mat Batts. A college squad needs to hop on this kid. I think he will be too much from the left side for NW Guilford as the spartans will advance to the semifinals.

Providence vs Ardrey Kell - I like Providence in this one. Haven't seen a lot of these guys play, but i have see Shaffer and know he is dominant. He is definitely one of the top pitchers, if not the top, in the state. I look for them to advance.

South Caldwell vs Butler - Don't know much about either except for Penny and the fact that Caldwell is always dominant. I like them to advance.

    Had to

This will be a hot game. Do not think East was that upset about losing Hanover.

Great matchup between 2 very talented teams tonight, as East Forsyth seeks revenge on ND for the recruitment/transfer of Tyler Hanover in 2008. Hanover's transfer is definitely still a touchy subject on East's campus. Shane Dickerson has been excellent all year on the mound for the Eagles and looks to continue his winning ways in the third round of the playoffs. The key tonight for the Eagles is going to be defense and scrappy offense. East's left side defense has been anchored all year by Casey Starbuck's soft hands and quick release from the third base position. Bunt hits should be hard to come by tonight if Starbuck is on his game. Christian Bailey's strong arm and impressive range at SS turn a lot of hits into outs, and Robbie Wodarcyck's play at second has been incredible-great range and strong/accurate arm. Evan Orenstein catches almost everything thrown his way at first base, and the outfield, led by Soph sensation Luke Dunlap runs down a lot of fly balls. If East's offense can scratch out a few runs, I think Dickerson and the defense should move on to the 4th round.

I'm with Plate Dad, I have talked to multiple folks at East that weren't upset about Hanover leaving.

Some people simply wanted him to do what he felt was best for him.

Others were disappointed but felt that if he wanted to go play with his Impact friends, there was nothing they could really do about it and wished him the best.

Others took satisfaction in the fact that East Forsyth still went further than North Davidson (I believe). It's very tough for these teams who become "the best team money can buy" to win the state championships.

-North Forsyth in 2006 getting Ackley lost to South Caldwell after starting 30-0
-West Forsyth lost in the first round to Grimsley in 2007 after getting Lassiter
-North Davidson went out earlier than expected last year after getting Hanover, don't remember which round

    old news........

That was last year............to correct though, Hanover was not recruited and North went deeper than East last year. Give credit to the teams this year.

3 play, to correct your post, i know for a fact that hanover was recruited. underhand moves like that shouldn't be allowed in HS sports. funny post by pasttime...nobody was happy about losing the best player from an already good team and im pretty sure east will never play ND again unless its in the playoffs like this year...good year to both teams though

    you don't know jack....................

His first choice was West Forsyth, but he knew he wouldn't get released. And after last night, East may not want to play North again....But believe what you want.

I believe 3play knows the situation better than anyone on this board ever could.

3Play---it was a thrill to catch Tyler on TV today. Dang, LSU put a whoopin' on Georgia!
