I went to my GD's athletic banquet last night at Randleman High and sat there watching and listening to the awards given out. My GD decided this year to not play softball. Randleman's softball coach gave out a couple awards but one award was what he called the coaches award. He gave the award out to whom he thought deserved it but there was 1 girl that was injured the week before school ball tryouts and her name is Tori Ryan. I went to several home games and that girl was missed this year terribly! Not only her bat in the line up but she was missed behind the plate. The coach did not recognize this jewel of a player but I wanted to. Tori sat on her bucket and called pitches from the dugout. I witnessed her "coaching" her team mates from the dug out. In my eyes she helped the coach out alot! I just wanted to put something on here to recognize this player.
She is a junior this year so hopefully she will be back playing for Randleman her senior year. Randleman ended up putting another player behind the plate this year and her name is Tori Moran. Tori Moran surely tried her best and she also deserves recognition, for putting on that catchers gear and getting behind that plate when no one else could or would!

I really don't know what you may be referring to when you say headache and I definitely was not trying to take anything away from the young lady who received the award! I was only trying to give kudos to a couple of deserving ball players that in my eyes were overlooked! I apologize if it was taken out of text.

What i meant was that is one less thing the coach had to worry about was calling pitches he should have given something to Tori. Also you were not taking anything away from the one who won it i totally agree with you.

As Tori's mom I just wanted to say thanks for the kind things said here. This has been a very hard year on her, she has caught on the varsity team since she was a freshman, earning her spot on all conference and all county each year. As a very wise college coach told her after she had her surgery "It's hard to watch a ballgame when you are supposed to be out there playing!" Thankfully she has been released and working her way back behind the plate for the Knockouts this summer! We thank God for His blessings!
