Sanderson up 2-0 top of the 5th.

Northern Nash up 5-0 top of the 6th.

Northern Nash has some very impressive arms. Led by a guy that is bigtime in Tyler Joyner.

    Big HR's lift EW

Down 5-0, one of the ECU-signees (believe it was Wooten) hit a grand slam to make it 5-4 in the 5th. With a runner on first and no outs in the bottom of the 7th, Northern turned the ball to Williams who induced a quick double play to push EW to their last out. More homerun heroics saved them however, as a blast tied the game (not sure the name of the hero). Back to back doubles ended the game and sent EW to a 6-5 victory and a big advantage in the 3-game series. Sounded like errors put EW in the hole early..

Errors did put EW in a hole, allowing the 5 runs scored by NN. EW pitcher Josh Frederick threw a great game, stayed strong after the miscues and kept NN bats from causing any more damage. Wooten did hit the grand slam, the other homer that tied the game was catcher, Cambric Moye. Robert Faucette doubled in the 7th, followed by Jose Ponce's game winning double! A great win for the Warriors!

    Cherryville-Murphy

Cherryville & Murphy are still trying to get their 4th round game completed.
Last night, the game was tied 3-3 in the bottom of the sixth when the rains came. Game will hopefully be completed today. While they wait to finish, South Stanly awaits: fully rested from Tuesday.

Game 2 Tonight: Who pitches for Northern Nash?

The pressure is really on Northern Nash's pitching staff tonight. Who get's the start? It's Do-Or-Die! No tomorrow if you lose! Tyler Joyner pitched Wednesday night so ideally you would think another days rest is needed at least. Someone other than Joyner will need to come through tonight! If that happens, & Northern wins tonight's game, then the advantage could shift to Northern Saturday with a more rested Joyner available. Expect alot of mound visits tonight at Northern Nash High School! The wheels will be turning!

"IDEALLY" being the key word. Could he possibly show up on the mound if need be in a Do or Die situation?
