AC came out tonight playing some hard nosed defense and Chelsea threw almost a perfect game...Ardrey Kell came out swinging the bats though and played a really good game.

Congrats Ardrey Kell on a great season!

Way to go AC. Monte if you make it to the championship, try to get it done in 7 innings. I don't beleive I can make it through another 19 inning game. LOL!

I KNOW there were a lot of people at Central Park tonight. I am not sure how we all made it in there, but we did. I KNOW our ladies work hard. I KNOW Coach S will be prepared. I KNOW our girls deserve this opportunity. Way to go Cougars!!!

 

Not a lot of hitting in this one. Kell changed pitchers in the 2nd inning and it worked for the most part. I was impressed with the way Kell played defense. The were a tough bunch and made the Lady Cougars work hard for their ticket to the Final Four. AC just does not beat themselves. They are not the best team in the state at the plate, they are maybe not the best team in the state on defense (but they are close) but they just don't make many mistakes. Credit that to the coaching and the work the girls put in. Way to go girls..........WE ARE AC !!!!!!!

 

WAY TO GO AC!!! Congrats to the girls, coaching team, grounds crew and Coach S for all their hard work and dedication. Way to come out Taylorsville and support!! Raleigh bound we are!!!! Great game to watch and great job on the mound #20!!!

AK played hard, but the little things are what separate the championship teams and AK just had too many mistakes to beat a team the caliber of AC. Great season Knights and the future is bright with a young team being led by a quality coach in Bob Bove. Great season ladies!

It's obvious when you go there - what a beautiful stadium. the grounds and the field are immaculate. Pride is evident everywhere you look. I wish more programs in the state took just a percentage of the pride you folks show up there. Your Players deserve it!!

My hope is that you realize how hard your players work year in and year out to do what they do. Your coach is intense - thorough and knowledgable he's a GREAT Coach and Motivator and has done a tremendous job for your program and community.
When you play on the road, you travel well - and, you are for the most part respectful of the game and supportive of your players and for the most part, your hosts. You should be proud! But pride wrongly directed can be a dangerous thing. They say "Everybody hates a winner" - but that's usually based in jealousy.

This post helps me put it in perspective and understand the rudeness and why 500 people would BOO 16 year old girls, repeatedly. And why a 40+ year old man (coach - not your head coach) would taunt and play mind games with a 17 year old - just because they are on the opposite team (just a couple examples). Part of the game? (the "other stuff" on the field regarding rules, etc.. IS part of the game)

Now you may say that it was just a few that created that - and that everyone else was just caught up in a mob mentality. But that kind of thing usually starts from the top down. It was said to me by your AD - "you don't have to like it here - you just have to follow our rules" after i asked her a question and questioned her answer. hmmmmm - Last I checked, our state taxes pay her salary - If I talked to my boss like that........ although it's the AD's responsibility to keep things in check - they really need the cooperation of the adults who support the program unless it's not an issue.

Has anyone ever been to an Independance - Butler football game? Independance fans cheer when a Butler player gets hurt. From what I understand, they do it to all the other teams they play also.

We all get caught up in the game, the winning and losing. It's a great diversion from the stress of day to day reality -
If you could learn how to do what you do with a bit of class and remembering the spirit of the game - you would truly become champions, honor your community and give respect to your players.

Good luck in Raleigh, I hope the best team wins - and I hope that team has fans that are of high moral character and support their players for the right reasons in the right way.

Nuff said. Oh, by the way - there is an 800lb Gorilla sitting in the chair next to you. Sorry, perhaps I wasn't supposed to say anything......
