Superstitious?

    Since it is getting near the end of the season, anyone have any superstitious things that you have seen their players doing since day 1?

    back in '75, lefty Joel Zablonksi, Old Union High, used to bite the cap off his pre-game Yoohoo and spit it into the trash can at the other end of the dugout. At which point he would scream....

    "HACHACHAHHHHH! DOWN THE HATCH AND INTO THE CAN - LETS GO BOYS - LETS GO WIN!"

    But just before the home finale vs. Skidmore Prep, one sultry afternoon, something went terribly wrong. Instead of prying the bottle cap loose, Ski's front teeth popped out, both of them. Never the one to whine or show pain, Ski went on with the show, the team needed this one, they needed their leader....

    "HATHBBBTHBBBT! DOWN THBT HATH AND INTO THBT CAN - LETSTH GO BOYSTH - LETSTH GO WIN!"

    The guys looked stunned for a moment and began to look around at each other. Then they began to laugh uncontrollably. Ski laughed too.

    Ski got battered for 6 runs in the first and 7 more in the second before being yanked. The guys lost 24-3 and Ski had to spend the next day at the dentists office........4 hours in the chair.

    Don't have any. Just don't like to mess up the baselines before a game. So I just avoid them.

    However I don't mess with a no no.

    Moms' Superstitions

    Had to wait to post on this on because I'm superstitious of talking about things when they are going good, it will put a jinx on you. Case in point; my son was 7-7 for the first three playoff games. The local paper mentioned it and that night he went 1-3, next games, 0-2, 1-4 and 0-1 with 3 strikeouts--more than he had all season.
    One superstitions with our Moms is we have to sit in the exact same places, in the same chairs each game--don't let a newcomer try to sit in our places. When one mom was severely injured in a storm that literally blew her home apart with her in it, we made a sign and placed it in her spot and dared anyone to try and sit there. Bubble gum must be bought by the same mom on the day of the game, same kind, and then given out in the 2nd inning, players first and then the fans. Tylenol is given out by a certain mom to certain players. Same shirts must be worn during a winning streak and changed to a different one only with a loss.
    Only reason I'm posting now is we lost out tonight but we are very proud of out boys.
