Fair??

    Is it fair that a principal can relieve a head baseball coach from his duties because he refuses to coach football???

    I would agree with tools

    but add that this could be an advantage. Think about it. Covert a few speedsters, teach them to bunt and steal.

    Coaching assignments are made by administration, principals and AD's. Ultimately, the principal has the final say in who coaches the teams or supervises clubs at his / her school. Remember coaching is an extra curricular duty.

    It's possible that the answer is as simple as a budget cut.

    You're right. That's just the way it is. I know of a young teacher that was hired this past year on the condition that he must be the varsity assistant baseball coach - even though he didn't play high school baseball. Just looking for a warm body....

    thers a big difference in doing something as a condition of employment and it being added after the fact
