If I uderstand it correctly, it is straightout of hs, finish jc, removed from hs 3 years, or turn 21.

    like dirtymo said...

You can go after high school. You can go if you finish JuCo. You can go if you're 3 years removed from high school. Or you can go if you're 21

You only have to fit 1 of the criteria, not all of them. Levi will be eligible after his junior season, even though he'll only be 20.

Congrats to Wil Myers, by the way! Played with him growing up and couldn't be happier for him

    again

I am almost 100 percent sure you do not have to finish JUCO to get drafted. Thats why there is talk that Bryce Harper(16 year old on SI cover) is getting his GED this summer and attending a JUCO so he can get drafted in 2010 instead of the 2011 draft

You're probably right. I don't keep up with the JuCo stuff at all really, I was using the "finish JuCo" part from the post up above mine.

But I know for non-JuCo plaers its EITHER 3 years removed from high school OR turn 21, definitely an either/or thing rather than a "both" thing

Anyone have any perspective on why Wil Myers may have slipped in the draft? I saw a mock draft on a respected site that had him at #20 overall pick and another that had him as high as #12 overall pick. I see he went #91...still a great achievement, just wondering about the move....

Maybe he told teams he really wanted to go to South Carolina, so he started slipping down draft boards. I really don't know, just guessing.

$$$....apparently it was known what he was looking for financially the clubs weren't willing to pay. The slot money for this round made the pick desirable. One has to assume that the club and the Myers family are on the same page.

On the Impact website he's quoted as saying he's "looking forward to getting started". So I guess he's already made up his mind.
