    CV Storm White 16u

    The CV Storm white 16u had a sucessful weekend considering missing a few key players. It was a pleasure to face teams like the Curve. They are well coached and hit the ball a ton. Kendall Settlemire, Casey Shue, as well as the others played very well against us. Hats off to the Curve, class act all the way! Also, thanks for filling in for the team we were supposed to play so that we wouldn't lose a chance to play.

    In our Sunday morning game, Chesla Miller (2011 from South Caldwell) hit a Grand Slam. I was told that was her first ever homerun. :N1YouGoGirl:

    Piedmont Storm

    A good weekend of softball for the Piedmont Storm. We went 5-1 - over coming a huge blow with pitcher Briana Davenport getting struck with a line shot to the side of the mouth pitching in the first inning while playing the Cape Fear Storm. The girls bounced back and continued playing hard.

    Curve went 4-1 for the 1st tournament of the season on short notice filling in for the Sandlappers team, played very well including coming back from an 8-0 defecit in one game. Hit the ball very well and had some strong pitching to boot. Congrats to Kayla Kindley on her 1st OTF tournament ball HR, a three run shot vs Cape Fear Storm.

    Carolina Blast

    The Carolina Blast went 2-1-2. Every game was close and our team really rallied behind our catcher after her dad suffered a massive heart attack Friday morning. Luckily he's a fire fighter and was on an incident with paramedics and fire fighters all around when his heart attack was witnessed by paramedics. They performed CPR on him and had to shock his heart to bring him back. I'm glad to say that he made it to the hospital where he had a heart catheterization performed and they inserted 2 stints. Remakably he was released from the hospital Sunday morning.
