Does anybody have some details? Personally, I don't care who wins. I just want to know who played well

I was there for a little while. Don't be afraid to announce batters and play music while play is going on. Hope that's not indicative of how HS games usually go. Very hot day to have to be out there scouting. Thought college coaches could not talk to players and parents? There might have been a little of that going on (but not by the hosts). Tsk, Tsk, Tsk...

    Region 6: 10 Region 4: 5

Region 6 won the late game last night 10-5 over Region 4. Ryan Butler (Ardrey Kell) started and threw 4 strong innings, giving up a solo opposite field home run by Curt Brit (Scotland County) in the second. Zach Simpson (West Rowan) pitched the 5th and 6th innings, giving up 3 runs, but several if not all were unearned. Finally, Ryan Mas (Butler) threw a scoreless 7th.

Offensively, unofficially Region 6 was led by Jake Watson (Charlotte Christian) 2-3, Bret Austin (Providence) 2-3, 2B, 2 rbis, Maverick Miles (South Rowan) I think had two hits, Brandon Burris (Mt. Pleasant) had a couple of hits. Ty Linton (Charlotte Christian) hit a 400'+ 3 run home run to centerfield.

Overall, Region 6 hit the ball well, ran the bases aggressively and played pretty solid defense, Region 4 had a little trouble fielding some pop ups and fly balls that hurt their cause. Region 6 plays today at 4:00pm vs Region 2.

Region 6 played well, but i was very impressed with Trey Laney. I have known Trey and seen him play for two years now. I have never seen him catch until last night. To catch in that enviroment, with scouts and colleges and the talent they are playing against, he looked real good.
