    Friday. Tennesee Raiders beat the CV Storm 7-5.

    CV Storm plays again Sat 8AM.

    Charlotte Cobras

    The Charlotte Cobras won all three of their pool games this week. Scheduled to play four, but the Thursday evening game was rained out.

    Thurs results:
    v. West Virginia Dusters (WV) - 6-2

    Fri results:
    v. Pembroke Pines Diamond Dusters (FL) - 10-2
    v. Peaches Gold (AL) - 4-3

    Single Elimination Play begins Saturday morning.
    Nice job girls!

    2nd round of bracket play games.

    Saturday AM

    Lady Blues - 3
    Carolina Cobras (Sherrill) - 0

    Kalie Lang fires a 2 hitter for the win. Losing pitcher - Chelsea Wilkinson.

    Lauren Lewis with a huge 2 out, 2 run double in the third, proved to be the winning margin.

    Another score:

    Charlotte Cobras - 3
    Cardinals (Mchone) - 2

    Cobras score 2 in bottom on inning after time had expired. Couple of errors and a hitter batter were very costly for the Cardinals.

    Why??

    I'm assuming these were elimination games. It seems tournament organizers could do a better job in both the exhibition and elimination rounds pitting teams against teams that they might not see on regular basis. While in Columbia I heard several coaches complain about this.

    I've written some general comments about my two enjoyable days in Columbia here.
