Morty reported over the weekend to the Arizona Rookie team for San Diego (in Peoria, Arizona). Last night he said he's been told to be ready for his first game action tonight or tomorrow.

I love this kid. He's a gritty, gutty, refuse-to-lose lefty who is going to rise to the occasion...just as he always seems to do. Not over-powering (86ish mph)...but he has 3 pitches, changes speeds and pin-points spots.

    Congratulations to Andrew

Couldn't have happened to a nicer, and more deserving person. Following his story has been a great journey. Here's a kid that everyone was overlooking until this forum started some positive pub for him as he was having an outstanding Legion season. Belmont got a diamond in the rough and this kid flat out was lights out this season for the Abbey.

    CONGRATULATIONS ANDREW:fan_wave2:

Morton was 86-89 for the Blue Jays and Pirates last week. He may not be overpowering, but he's got enough. This kid came in at 75-78. Literally gained 10-12 mph since he's been at the abbey. so proud of him.
