Rats come up short....

The 2011 Diamond Rats lost their first game in the Championship round 6-5 to Triple Threat Baseball from Florida. Rats pitching only allowed one earned run, but they all count and the opponent plated 5 runs after 2-out errors. Matt Pearson (Charlotte Christian) and Eric Dirkschneider (Providence) both pitched effectively in relief. Hunter Conley (Hopewell) and LJ Newman (Wren HS, Anderson SC) continued their clutch hitting. The Rats loaded the bases in their final at bat, but were unable to push across the tying run.
