There are many ways to earn a berth to the USA/ASA Championship. If you try to read the ASA Code, you will come away with a huge headache and you will be even more confused.

    1. Each Local Association (State) is given 1 berth if there are between 201-999 ASA registered teams in the region. Then an additional berth is awarded for every 500 additional registered teams. It appears that this berth is awarded at the ASA State Tournament.

    2. ASA South Atlantic Regional Tournament. 2 berths are awarded from this tournament.

    3. ASA Championship (Northern, Eastern, Southern, Western) The champion and the runner-up from the preceding year ASA Championships are awarded a berth to the USA/ASA Championship. This is a smart way to go.

    4. Hall of Fame. The top 8 finishers in the Hall of Fame Tournament are each awarded a berth. To get to the Hall of Fame Tournament, you must have a local Hall of Fame Qualifier. These are usually early in the season or in the fall.

    5. National Qualifiers. 1 berth is awarded from each of these tournaments.

    6. Metro Championships. 1 berth is awarded from each of these tournaments. Eligible teams must be in the Metro. If Dayton, Ohio has a Metro, why doesn't Charlotte? This is an excellent opportunity to get another team to the big show. Metro teams are also eligible for the State Tournament. So Metro teams have an additional chance at earning a berth.

    The possibilities are out there.

Been there done that qualifying for ASA Nats.....

......yes there exists many opportunities to qualify.
Bottom line in ASA, you win and move to the next "qualifier", or you get beat and go home. Period.
And before anybody tries to beat up on the fishman, trust me on this one folks....in the words of the late departed Jim Valvano.....survive and advance. You play your way in. I like that.

The experience that our team was fortunate enough to have in the ASA Nationals was one of a kind!

I can't leave out this quote. In the words of my favorite wrestler....yep, the MAN Rick Flair...WHOOOOOO, "to be the best you have to beat the best"!

Investing in going to the ASA Nats ain't cheap on your wallet but the return on that investment is very special and worth every penny!

    good luck
