My DD plays for the East Wake Spirits 12U. We just got an email today from the coach that someone stole our team trailer from out of his driveway in the middle of the afternoon. I'm sure the thugs who stole the trailer thought they were stealing a trailer full of tools since we just recently got the trailer and had not had a chance to have it painted. Instead they got all of our teams equipment. Nets, tees, balls, extra uniforms, extra catching gear, team fans, team heaters, team wagon, the list goes on. Its sad that in this day and time someone can be so bold as to just roll up to someones house and take something just to take it. Sad thing is to them that stuff means nothing, to our girls it means everything. Just an FYI to anyone with team trailers. Protect them. To the thugs of the world, they are just something else to steal. Hopefully through fundraising we can replace at least some of whats been taken.

Most thieves never participated in sports. That's why they never learned to work for what they get.

Keep it locked down at all times.

Despite your woes.....try the insurance man. It was on someone's personal property and will probably fall under someone's insurance policy, if not the teams. The team might have to pay the insurer the deductable. Allot cheaper than replacing everything. Hope this helps.

Unfortunately there is no insurance. We will have to replace everything ourselves. Hopefully something will turn up somewhere, but I doubt we will ever get the equipment back. It's probably in a dumpster somewhere since it wasn't what they wanted. Someone called NBC 17 news and told them our story. They did a nice piece last night about the girls. Here's a link to the story. If nothing else, it gets the word out to other teams to be careful and trust no one.

....HeyKMomma, Sorry for your loss. It Sucks for sure, and I wonder why more of the criminals don't prey on us and our gear at tournaments.
Lets see. my DD has 3 bats in her bag, all of which cost $250+, and all of her teammates have equal type equipment, yet we as parents allow our kids to throw their bat bag in the middle of a team pile, and expect all is well when we get back.
A cotten picken' kid can pay $5 to get into a park and waltz right out with as many bags as he wants, all under the onlookers belief that the kid is a brother or sister, and assoc. with the team.

    Sumpin' to think about.......

    Trailer

You had no auto insurance? Some policies can cover trailers up to a certain percentage or dollar limit. Some of the equipment if yours can be covered under homeowners if it is your personal property and if other kids stuff can be covered under their homeowners policy if temporary stored in this trailer! Don't just accept what an agent might say. It is at least worth exploration.:xyxwave:
