    One of the really good things about baseball is what happened to San Francisco's Jonathan Sanchez on Friday night. He was a pitcher that was down on his luck (2-8 record & 5.30 ERA) & likely headed for the minors or traded. Thru a twist of fate, Randy Johnson was hurt & Sanchez had to fill in. Friday night he throws a no-hitter! I turned on MLB Extra Innings late Friday night after returning home from Kinston (Legion game) & the drama was in the nineth inning. Now, I've never heard of Jonathan Sanchez or followed him, but here I am at midnight, dead tired, staying up to cheer him on. You never know!

    SF Giants fan

    As a longtime Giants fan from the days of Willie Mays, McCovey, Cepeda, the Alou brothers {Felipe, Matty, and Jesus}, Marichal, Gaylord Perry, Stu Miller it's great the current Giants and pitching staff are making their presence known.

    You are correct Sanchez probably was headed back to the bullpen, minors or even traded. He needed this lift. And what a feeling knowing your father was there in the stands watching his son throw a no-hitter.

    Finally the Giants have an abundance of quality pitching; Lincecum, Cain Johnson, Zito, Sanchez ... and don't forget Madison Bumgarner is blowing them away in AA. {check out Bumgarner postings on TBR}

    Just think Lincecum almost threw a no-hitter {no-hitter through 7 innings} the night before.
