Good job guys! I know this has been emotional, but except for a couple of misunderstandings, you have dealt with it well.

and to critterhunter---if you ever read a name of a player being discussed in a negative manner on TBR...please PM me immediately and that post and member will no longer be here. We don't have a history of that...and although we tend to allow the American Legion threads be a little more aggresive (by the members choosing), we still don't allow the players to be attacked.

I can assure everybody posting in here that KarlRocket doesn't have a mean bone in his body. As he said, most of the time he is posting something light to relieve a tense thread.

But he does know baseball and has a very talented kid.

    BEEN OVER IT

Since Saturday morning. Got projects to complete before school starts back. Now I can get them done. May I remind you, that I mentioned several times that I wished Wilson the best. Errors from our team is what lost our games. And not putting the bat on the ball when needed. I never once put down Wilson or mentioned anyones name but my son and Nygard, and that was their pitching stats. I also begged Nygard to protect his arm, because he too has a very bright future. I don't want him to ruin it. I talked about my teams "Kinston's" stats. Again, GOOD LUCK TO WILSON :REDanceBanana001: I can make it bigger if you want me to!

    Round 3 Game 1

Both number 1 seeds fall in opening game:
Cary got superb pitching and a three run blast from will Smith and a solo shot by Eric Brady to beat Durham 9 - 3 at Riverside. Series moves to Cary tomorrow at 7PM.

Wilson took a page out of Wilson's playbook and scored 14 as Rocky Mt. managed only 9. The series continues tomorrow at Fike HS at 7 PM.

    Wilson 14, Rocky Mount 9

Rocky Mount's Xavier Macklin hit a grand slam in the 9th inning, and Ben Fish followed with his second solo shot in as many innings – and Wilson won the opener of the Area I Eastern Division finals Sunday at Northern Nash HS.

Wilson, twice beaten by the mercy rule in two regular-season meetings with Rocky Mount, threatened to turn the tables on its hosts Sunday night, leading 13-3 in the 8th when Fish hit his first HR to extend the game.

Bentley Massey (6-1) picked up the pitching win, and Zack Lee hit Wilson's only HR in the midst of its 18-hit attack. In handing Post 58 its first playoff loss, Wilson improved to 15-10. Rocky Mount dropped to 14-3. Game 2 is Monday night at Fike High School in Wilson.

Rocky Mount at Wilson rained out Monday

Game 2 will be played Tuesday – and Game 4 on Thursday, if needed – at the pitcher-friendly confines of Fleming Stadium rather than at the launching pad that is Fike HS.

    Cary over Durham

    Durham 13
    Cary 15

    Cary leads seris 2-0

Durham was up 7-2 going into the bottom of the 6th, but just as in game 1, their starter tired, and was hit fairly hard. Cary eventually went up 15-8 as Cary's Eric Brady, Drew Woodall, and Dylan Kipp all hit 2 HRs each.

But Durham came back in the top of the 9th, scoring 5 runs, helped by 3 Cary errors, a wild "infield fly" call for the 2nd out (which was dropped), and the game ended with the tying run at the plate who hit what looked like a double down the RF line, but was caught by Kipp to end the game.

    Just a wild night.

    Game 2

Rain hits Area I East, tomorrows nights game 2 will be at Flemming Stadium.

Cary held on for a 15-13 victory to take a 2-0 series lead. Durham made a game run in the top of the 9th scoring 5 runs aided by 3 Cary errors. Durham started out strong jumping out to a 7-2 lead with timely hitting and a home 5run by Brian Burgess. Cary again used the long ball hitting 6 home runs; 2 each by Eric Brady, Dylan Kipp, and Drew Woodall.

Durham 13 runs, 17 hits and 6 errors
Cary 15 runs, 13 hits and 4 errors

It looked like the Cary game would also be rained out but thanks to the efforts of Neil Woodall, Percy Evans, Clay Council, and Larry Mangum, several bags of turface and sun making an appearance the game was started on time with excellent playing conditions.
